Meet Taylor Fairchild, Co-Owner of RMP Auto
Taylor Fairchild is the co-owner and manager of RMP Auto LLC, a family-owned, women-operated auto repair shop in Port Richey, Florida. Before entering the automotive industry, Taylor worked in the bar and restaurant business, where she developed the people skills and communication style that continue to shape how she works with guests today.
Her automotive career began at a local diesel repair shop, where she progressed from receptionist to service advisor. After approximately five years in diesel repair, Taylor and her family purchased RMP Auto and brought their guest-first philosophy into the general automotive repair industry. Today, she supports nearly every side of the business while helping create an experience built around transparency, education, and clear conversations.

From Connecticut to Pasco County
Taylor was born and raised in a small town in Connecticut. At 21, she moved to Pasco County, Florida, and began building a new life away from the place where she grew up.
At the time, an automotive career was not part of her plan. Taylor spent years working in bars and restaurants, where she learned how to communicate with different personalities, listen carefully, handle fast-moving situations, and make people feel comfortable.
Those experiences gave her a foundation that translated naturally into automotive service. Although the setting changed, the central part of the work remained the same: listen to people, understand what they need, and help them through the situation in front of them.
An Unexpected Start in Automotive Repair
Taylor’s automotive career began when she was offered a receptionist position at a local diesel repair shop. What initially felt like an unfamiliar industry quickly became something she genuinely enjoyed.
As she learned more about the business, Taylor took on additional responsibilities and progressed into a service advisor role. She worked directly with guests while developing a stronger understanding of vehicles, repair recommendations, diagnostic processes, and the daily coordination required to keep a repair facility running.
Taylor spent approximately five years in the diesel repair industry. During that time, she built relationships with technicians, guests, vendors, and other automotive professionals. She also discovered how much she enjoyed helping people understand what was happening with their vehicles.
What started as an unexpected opportunity became a career centered on communication, relationships, and customer education.
Step 1
Bringing a Guest-First Approach to RMP Auto
In 2023, Taylor and her family purchased RMP Auto LLC in Port Richey. The facility had served the area for more than 20 years and was previously known for hot rods and specialty vehicles. Under its new ownership, the shop shifted its focus toward helping everyday drivers maintain and repair the vehicles they depend on.
Taylor brought the same guest-first approach she developed in diesel repair into the general automotive repair business. RMP Auto became a family-owned, women-operated shop built around honest recommendations, transparent communication, and treating guests the way the team would want its own family treated.
Since becoming part of RMP Auto, Taylor has handled nearly every responsibility that comes with running a small family business. Her work has included management, service advising, bookkeeping, parts support, customer communication, daily operations, and stepping in wherever the shop needs help.
That broad involvement gives Taylor an understanding of how decisions made in one area of the business affect the team and the guests they serve.
Helping Guests Understand Their Vehicles
Taylor’s primary role is customer-facing. She believes guests should be able to ask questions and understand what their vehicles need before deciding how to move forward.
At RMP Auto, the goal is not simply to hand someone a repair estimate. Taylor works to help guests understand what was found, why a repair may be recommended, which concerns require immediate attention, and which items may be monitored or planned for later.
That approach is central to the experience RMP Auto works to provide. The shop focuses on honest diagnostics, clear explanations, and practical recommendations that help guests make informed decisions based on their vehicles, priorities, and circumstances.
The RMP Auto team assists Port Richey drivers with engine diagnostics and repair, suspension, steering, and wheel alignment, and preventive maintenance for domestic, Asian, and European vehicles.
Women in Automotive and the Port Richey Community
Taylor is involved with Women in Automotive and enjoys connecting with other women and professionals across the industry. Those relationships give her opportunities to learn from others, share experiences, and support women building careers in automotive businesses.
She also volunteers when opportunities arise and believes in supporting the community that supports local businesses like RMP Auto. The shop serves drivers throughout Port Richey, New Port Richey, Hudson, Holiday, Trinity, and surrounding Pasco County communities.
For Taylor, community involvement and customer service are closely connected. Both start with listening, treating people with respect, and building relationships that extend beyond a single interaction.

Life Outside RMP Auto
Outside the shop, Taylor is rarely short on ideas for her next project or adventure. She enjoys traveling, experiencing new places and cultures, taking on creative projects, and spending time with family and friends.
She also enjoys coffee, drives a 2025 Kia Sportage she loves, and is the proud dog mom of Peanut, her Miniature Pinscher.
Taylor is easy to talk to and willing to listen, whether the conversation is about a vehicle, a business challenge, or everyday life. That openness has become an important part of how she works with guests and supports the RMP Auto team.
“Some of the strongest relationships, both in business and in life, start with a good conversation.” - Taylor Fairchild, Co-Owner of RMP Auto
